eLN webinar: Proactive About Performance
Using xAPI and Learning Analytics to Drive Workplace Success, with Ben Betts, HT2 Labs
Friday 25th May 2018, 12 noon till 1.00pm (BST)
This month’s eLN webinar is presented by HT2 Labs CEO Ben Betts. Their Learning Locker Learning Record Store (LRS) won the Learning Technologies Gold Award in 2017 for the most innovative new learning technologies product. It is the most-installed LRS in the world. Available open source, it offers a massively scalable database for use with xAPI technology and it has enabled thousands of organisations to harness the power of data to enable better learning experiences. This includes the ability to connect systems together, to provide customisable dashboards to prove the impact of learning, to perform analysis on the return on investment (ROI) of training and to enable more performance support technologies.
In this webinar, Ben will explore Learning Locker's role as the foundation of Villeroy & Boch’s LT17 Bronze award-winning Brand Ambassador Programme, in which data from a blended learning experience was received and tracked to measure Customer Conversation and ATV (Average Transaction Value) against data in previous years. These insights ultimately led to a €2.5m return on the training investment. What lessons were learned and what can you apply in your context?
Ben leads the passionate team at HT2 Labs and is a globally-recognised thought-leader in Learning Technology with more than 15 years’ industry experience. Ben’s accolades include doctorate level research into gamification & social learning, authoring and contributing to four books and numerous peer-reviewed academic papers.
Cognitive Psychology Meets Learning Design
Thursday 31st May 2018, 9:30am till 4.00pm
With Dr Tony Frascina and Dr Rebecca Gordon
Are you intested in using cognitive psychology to design learning that really works?
The eLN's member May event in Brighton brings cognitive psychology and learning design together in one place, exactly where they belong. Our members asked for more help with learning design and, as if by magic, here's an eLN event offering just that!
Dr Rebecca Gordon from Kings College London researches working memory and high-level cognition. Dr Tony Frascina is a learning designer who also chairs the judging of the Learning Technologies Awards. Together they will be running a day long workshop providing attendees with experience in the cognitive processes involved when learners are exposed to learning.
The day will include practical learning design activities that focus on the connection between cognitive psychology and best practice in learning design. Refreshments will be provided.
